Mission

Full Force Dance Repertory (Full Force) is a holistic dance organization that combines elements of dance therapy and energy medicine in their performances and classes. On the performance side, Full Force's dance company utilizes dancers that vary in shape and size to showcase works in a variety of genres that include: modern/contemporary, african, ballet and step dance. Full Force’s unique and cutting edge fusion of dance styles promote the entertainment value within dance, while simultaneously creating profound experiences. Their work reaches across a variety of people, from dance 'intellectuals' to mainstream audiences to church congregations.

In connection with Full Force’s distinctive performance quality, the company also offers audiences and communities the opportunity to experience movement on another level through our classes and workshops. In believing that movement is truly universal, all are welcome to experience our Afro-Step Rhythms class or Stress-Relief Movement classes, which are apart of our Movement Conversation Groups series.

What is a "Movement Conversation Group"?

Movement Conversation Groups (MCG) connect participants to their emotional, mental and physical encounters through movement. Movers learn and explore their own individualistic quality of movement based on the group collective. Each MCG focuses on specific types of individual experiences such as, but not limited to: stress (our most popular!), pregnancy, menopause, obesity, aging, and violence. Those involved in such groups begin to acknowledge and move past the stresses and frustrations due to these varied life processes in a holistic manner. As the participants explore the activities within the group, dance therapy and energy healing techniques are applied to foster faster and stronger development. Movement Conversation Groups are open to everyone based on the topic of conversation.

Dance Therapy

Dance therapy uses movement to explore feelings and thoughts. In the case of an MCG, it is also used to help guide the individual and group in being able to recognize how one moves and how they interact with others.

Energy Healing

According to the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, "90% of all major illnesses are stress-related".  Although one is unable to actually see stress because it is a metaphysical energy form, the effects of it manifest in the physical body in numerous ways such as fatigue, stomach ache, hair falling out, mysterious disorders, diseases, and more. Energy wellness deals with affecting positive change in the metaphysical state through the bio-field or aura that surrounds the physical body.  In MCGs a certified energy wellness practitioner clears the blockages and negative energies in the bio-field so that the physical body can be stronger and more energized.

Afro-Step Rhythms Class

This open class combines West African dance styles with American step dance. If you are ready to be active and get the blood pumping, this is the class for you!                                                                 P.S Bring a towel.
